Patient Advocate Program

What is a Patient Advocate?

A patient advocate is someone who supports you through the healthcare process.

We don't replace your doctors, diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, or make medical decisions for you.

Instead, we help you better understand, prepare for, communicate about, and navigate your care.

Your advocate can help you prepare for an appointment, attend appointments with you, communicate with members of your healthcare team when appropriate, organize information, and help you understand what comes next.

Think of it as having a knowledgeable second set of eyes and ears focused on your experience and your best interests.

What Does the Service Include?

Depending on your situation, support may include:

Appointment Preparation - Organizing your concerns, questions, history, and goals

Appointment Support - Attending appointments with you and helping you stay focused and organized.

Healthcare Communication - Helping facilitate communication with your healthcare team when appropriate.

Medical Information Organization - Helping organize information from appointments, testing, medications, and providers.

Post-Appointment Review - Helping you understand what happened and identify your next steps.

Personalized Resources - Creating notes, summaries, question lists, or other materials to help you and your healthcare team communicate more effectively.

Healthcare is Complicated. Your Support Shouldn't Be.

When you're the patient, it's easy to get caught up in everything happening around you.

You may leave an appointment thinking:

  • What did my doctor actually say?

  • What does this diagnosis or medical term mean?

  • What are my options?

  • What questions should I have asked?

  • What are the next steps?

  • Did I explain my concerns clearly?

  • What should I expect from this medication or treatment?

  • What do I need to communicate to my other providers?

Having an advocate means you don't have to carry all of that responsibility by yourself.

We provide an outside perspective, help you stay organized, and make sure you have the information you need to participate confidently in your healthcare

What Our Clients Say

"I felt that I had a knowledgeable person in my corner who was focused on protecting my best interests."

Our clients tell us that one of the most valuable parts of patient advocacy is having someone who can help make complicated healthcare information easier to understand while providing support throughout the process.

"Walking into the appointment with her gave me so much confidence, and I left knowing exactly what my next steps were instead of feeling lost."

That's the goal.

Not just getting through an appointment, but leaving with clarity about what happened and confidence about what comes next.

"Her presence was calm and reassuring... It was truly a weight lifted off my shoulders."

Healthcare can be stressful enough without feeling like you have to navigate it completely by yourself.

Sometimes having another person beside you can change the entire experience.

Please reach out to us if you are interested in the service.

We recommend reaching out at least 2-3 weeks before your scheduled Dr's appointment you'd like us to attend with you.
